The Challenge

We partnered with a leading peripheral brand to redefine their flagship hardware and reclaim their position as an industry pioneer. The objective was to develop a comprehensive four SKU portfolio — two wired and two wireless models — to create an uncopyable competitive advantage.

As the market became saturated with perforated clones, we were tasked with transitioning from a “holed” aesthetic to a sophisticated, closed shell design while maintaining extreme ultralight weight requirements.

The Strategy

Our strategy moved beyond aesthetics to derisk the product definition through a high-stakes balancing act between mass and performance. Every internal component was engineered under strict weight requirements, where every gram impacted both the physical specs and the overall product quality.

This included rigorous ergonomic testing and the development of patented hot-swap battery technology for the wireless SKUs — a technical marvel that ensured infinite wireless runtime via a dedicated base station charging dock, eliminating the need for cables entirely.

The Execution

Using our “Factory First” approach, we kept Industrial Design in-house while collaborating directly with factory mechanical and firmware engineers to solve technical complexities at the source.

As a turnkey partner, we managed the entire hardware journey across the diverse SKU lineup — from initial ideation and complex weight optimization to overseeing mass production in Thailand. By integrating hardware engineering with custom software, we delivered a seamless end-to-end experience across both wired and wireless tiers.

Hot-Swap Battery System

We designed a modular hot-swap mechanism that allows for battery replacement in seconds, enabling infinite wireless runtime with zero downtime. This proprietary architecture—protected under U.S. Patent No. 12,524,085 B1—delivers a structural competitive advantage that defines a new standard for the category.

Closed-shell ultralight chassis

Intelligent Battery Dock

This dock is the brains of the hot-swap system. It keeps your mouse powered and connected for 10+ hours even when the battery is ejected, while offering unique features to track battery life and polling rates. We also integrated a custom modifier button for quick, programmable actions.

Ergonomic and symmetrical shells

Customized Mouse Software

We developed custom software that allows users to fine tune lighting and sensitivity, remap buttons, and modify advanced settings. This creates a fully tailored experience, giving users ultimate control over their mouse performance.
